Our models might be taking a bit longer to make but it doesn’t mean we’ll stop building them. The global parts shortage is caused by delays, not discontinuation – this means when production returns to normal, you’ll be able to get genuine parts worth waiting for from your local Volkswagen dealer.

The average time from order to collection in the current environment for Passenger Vehicles is 22 weeks, and for Commercial Vehicles is 35 weeks. Please be aware timings are subject to change. We encourage you to discuss specific model details with your local dealer.

After your Volkswagen has been built, it will be sent in a batch delivery to a port in Australia, where it will then be delivered to your dealership for collection.

It doesn’t feel fair that your car has travelled further than you this year but if you can see your car is in a port, it’s because we ship several cars over at the same time to help reduce our carbon footprint and costs.

There is a shortage of containers available for sea freight whilst ports and Vessels continue to be short of capacity to meet worldwide demand.
